SFR: Short Sales and Foreclosures – The New “Traditional” Transaction

The economy is changing and so is the way people buy and sell homes.  Some real estate agents specialize in short sales and foreclosures; these two being the new “traditional” real estate transaction.  It is critical for Realtors to be able to help clients navigate the challenges of short sales and foreclosures.   Buying and selling foreclosures and short sales is not for the faint of heart, but with the proper skills, tools, and knowledge, a real estate agent can build their portfolio with SFR.

What is a CDPE?

A CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert®) is a real estate agent who understands the complex issues within the real estate industry, and the options to avoid foreclosures.  Through knowledge,  training, and experience, a CDPE can give advice to homeowners facing financial hardships and potential fore-closures – namely, initiating a short sale.

Homeowners facing possible foreclosure are often emotionally distressed and may proceed somewhat blindly with no support or guidance. CDPE  believe that your best move is to consult with a knowledgeable and licensed real estate professional.   With the proper tools, an agent can help homeowners in financial hardships find a solution for their particular situation.   Even when other options are no longer possible, a CDPE can help a homeowner initiate a short sale to avoid foreclosure.

Selecting an agent such as Agata Kowalczyk with the CDPE Designation ensures that you are working with an agent trained to address your specific needs. CDPE’s do more just selling homes, they can save clients in need.
